Trip to Malacca wouldn’t be complete without going to Jonker Street!

Formerly famous for its antique stores, Jonker Street has now become the tourist hot spot in Malacca. Filled with delicious street food and local food, it is known as the hub of ethnicity and culture. You can do everything in this street; eat, shop, drink and visit historical sites, galleries and museums. 

It also features beautiful wall murals as well so don’t forget to bring your camera!

The best time to visit Jonker Street is from Friday to Sunday, 5pm – 10pm.

Once referred to as the ‘Venice of the East’, the Malacca river is now a popular tourist spot. 

Enjoy a stroll at Malacca river where you can spot vintage shop houses, beautiful colonial buildings, historical bridges as well as modern art displays. It is also called the river of bridges because of various beautiful bridges built over it like Tan Boon Seng Bridge, ‘Ghost Bridge of Malacca’ and Old Market Bridge. Another way to enjoy Malacca River’s beauty is through cruises.

– Melaka River Cruise is open daily from 9 am to 11:30 pm. Boats depart roughly every 30 minutes from Taman Rempah Jetty

–  The Shore Jetty counter hours are 10 am – 10 pm. The first boat departs at 11 am and the last boat is at 10 pm (must buy last boat tickets before 9.30pm. Boats from The Shore Jetty depart every hour on the hour.

Just 15 minutes drive away from Malacca city, you can get to Klebang Beach where it is famous for food and sand dunes. This beach is the perfect spot for picnics and outdoor sports. Despite it wasn’t advisable to swim at the beach, it was a great place to watch the sunsets. The sand dunes in Klebang Beach had gone viral because of its beauty and uniqueness. It is the best spot for wedding photos and photo shooting, especially when it’s sunset. 

Another attraction of Klebang Beach is the food stalls. In particular, Klebang original coconut shakes. With Malaysia’s hot and humid weather, coconut shakes are the best drink to get! Top with vanilla ice cream, this coconut shake is a must-have whenever you visit Klebang Beach!

With a height of 163 meters, The Shore Sky Tower is easily the tallest building in Malacca. You’ll get to experience a 360-degree panoramic view at the observation deck on the building’s 43rd floor. 

If you are feeling courageous, you could challenge yourself to go on the glass area that overhangs at the side of the building. Do take note that, once you step on the area, you are not allowed to take photos with your own camera, instead, the official photographers would take your photos. Of course, you don’t need to buy them if you don’t want them!
